Brain Shell
Jan 2012No Images Available. Brain Shell is a simple shell written for Linux. It is a 2 week assignment to introduce students to Linux, and as I had limited Linux experience I found creating this to be an excellent tutorial into the features of a good shell. Brain Shell includes basic shell features: forking new task, redirection, background processing, and pipes. |

Gauntlet Framework
Aug 2011Game Club Framework for the BCIT Games Development Club is a framework for developing games that would be compatible with PC, Xbox 360, and the Windows Phone 7 without the need for the programmers to make any extra changes. The framework is built based on chunks of the Lizard Looter code base with all of the game specific code removed, Windows Phone 7 support added, and many small tweaks. The goal was to make it more user friendly and to provide a simple platform that the group could develop multiple games in with the possibility of releasing them to the market. |

Skeli 10
Apr 2011Skeli 10 is a game that I wrote in order to compete in a contest to make apps for the Windows Phone 7.
I won the contest and got one of the three Windows Phone 7s that where available. Skele 10 is a simple toy designed for young children in which the player hurls shoes at skeletons walking past the screen. The idea for Skeli 10 came up when a friend of mine mentioned that his son likes to play stuff on his iPad where you cannot lose. Skeli 10 uses a simple faux 3d to display the multiple different layers and incorporates a system whereby killed skeletons will be drawn to the backgrounds allowing them to accumulate without consequence to the programs speed or battery life. Skele 10 was completed in only 10 hours including all graphics and sounds. |

Skug Extermination
Jan 2011Skug Extermination is the second game I made at a Global Game Jam. I worked with a team of 4 other people, a programmer, and 3 designers/artists. I wrote most of the base code and rendering for the XNA based engine that we used, I also did some work to optimize the game using look up tables.
By the end of the Global Game Jam my we had the game working with a majority of the features that we intended to implement, and a minimum number of bugs. The game was however very difficult as we did not have a lot of time to figure out how easy or difficult is was. |
